There's Strong Rumours Circulating on Social Media Today ... (Yardbarker)

There's strong rumours circulating on social media regarding the legendary Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody. Brian Cody has been the main man coaching ...

The Brewers are the only team in the NL Central and one of three in the entire league that refuses to first, pay minor leaguers for extended spring training this year and second, ensure that each minor leaguer has their own bedroom in team housing at each level. They work grueling hours, training to be the best they can be for the chance to make it to the bigs someday. Early draft picks can rely on their signing bonuses to carry them through their time in the minors, but that represents a small number of players in the system. Rob Manfred’s tone-deaf comments In a press conference Tuesday, controversial MLB commissioner Rob Manfred turned a blind eye to the dedication and struggles of minor league players. The Cowboys, who employed Payton as their quarterbacks coach from 2003-05, have been connected to a Payton trade off and on for many years. Byron Buxton followed with a homer to break the tie, and that was it for the scoring in the game. Unfortunately, the disconnect from draft day to work in the minor leagues is jarring. The 16-year New Orleans coach is set to work for FOX this year, but he continues to view a return to the sidelines as likely. It was hard to be away from the family, but it was good to train at ATT. It’s a fighting university there.” The 39-year-old Silva praised his teammate, who is coming off a victory against Danny Roberts at UFC 274 this past May. “I went to talk to ‘Massaranduba,’ and I thanked him for training, and said that seeing him like this would lead me to fight until I'm 43 too,” Silva said. A recent report connected Sean Payton to resurfacing in the NFL next season, tying the former New Orleans Saints coach to the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins. Connections to Dallas and Miami have persisted, though Los Angeles represents new territory here. What I was told this morning is Charles knows he may have to leave TNT. That would be bad for everybody.” Patrick added that the goal for LIV is likely to see if it can secure a TV deal. Dan Patrick discussed the news on his show Tuesday. Patrick implied that he spoke with Barkley about the possibility of Sir Charles taking a job with LIV. “He might have to leave TNT. That’s why this is a huge deal,” Patrick said.

Cody, who turned 68 the previous Monday, continued: “The real story is that Kilkenny haven’t gone away and Kilkenny never will go away. Sunday’s defeat to Limerick was only the sixth time a Cody-managed Kilkenny side has lost an All-Ireland final. Winning the Liam MacCarthy will happen for this great team soon and in the meantime Kilkenny is still the capital of hurling.”

Speculation intensifies on Brian Cody's future as Kilkenny hurling boss (Independent.ie)

Intense speculation has persisted in Kilkenny throughout the day that Brian Cody is to step down as the county's hurling manager after 24 years.

He has also won 18 Leinster titles and 10 leagues. But since the weekend there has been much speculation that he was now ready to call it a day, even if it is so soon after the All-Ireland final defeat. But the performance and the achievement in getting there in the first place is perhaps offering a brighter note for Cody to sign off on if he has decided to, leaving a squad in good shape, having long built his own legacy.

Kilkenny GAA hurling manager Brian Cody linked with SHOCK EXIT ... (The Irish Sun)

BRIAN CODY has been linked with a stunning exit as Kilkenny hurling manager. It comes after the Cats heartbreakingly lost to Limerick in the All-Irelan.

“At half-time, we were just four points down which is not a big lead in hurling. The early goal gave them a huge boost, great confidence and gave them that cushion the whole way right up to half-time. They are a top-class team, they have proven it over the last few years. “We were playing the All-Ireland champions. They got some great scores. Obviously, we weren’t, according to most people’s predictions . . . we weren’t even at the level we needed to be to have a chance of getting to an All-Ireland final.
