The actor recently wrapped production on a revival of Party Down, a 2009 sitcom created by John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd. Adam Scott Cast in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (The Direct)

Sony Pictures brought on Adam Scott for an undisclosed role in an upcoming Spider-Man spin-off.

With production in its earliest stages for Sony's new solo movie, Madame Web is still far from done pulling together big names and crew members for the team that will make the movie a reality. Adam Scott is surely no stranger to projects that have millions of viewers, although this will be his first venture into the world of superhero movies with Sony's group of Spider-Man spin-offs. Sony's Spider-Man Universe continues to expand past the Venom and Morbius stories, most prominently with S.J. Clarkson's Madame Web, which is currently filming ahead of its 2023 release.

It seems unlikely, as the rights are obviously complicated, given Spider-Man’s presence in the MCU. Sony has several new projects lined up, including Kraven the Hunter (set for release on January 13, 2023) and Madame Web (which currently has a July 7, 2023 release date). There is also El Muerto, which will star Bad Bunny, as well as a third Venom movie. The director of Madame Web will be SJ Clarkson who is known for directing episodes of TV including Dexter, Jessica Jones, and Succession. Sony has started to expand the SPUMC – the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (we’re not giving up on that name). It all started with Venom, and has continued with Morbius – which didn’t make quite the same impact, unless you count the memes.
