A statement blamed 'illness' for the cancellation of Thursday's gig at the Cork venue, and organisers say the event will be rescheduled for a later date.

The British duo had this week announced an appearance at the Glastonbury festival on Friday, and a string of summer dates across Europe are also planned. The promoters of the Chemical Brothers gig in Cork say a new date will be announced in due course. The show will be rescheduled to 2023.”

The Chemical Brothers' Musgrave Park gig will not be going ahead in 2022 as the band announces they are cancelling "due to illness.".

Organisers MCD gave a statement on Wednesday that "The Chemical Brothers are sorry to announce they have had to reschedule their show at Musgrave Park, Cork, Ireland on Thursday, June 23rd 2022 due to illness." The superstar DJs were finally due to play to a crowd of nostalgic 90s kids on Thursday night after rescheduling their 2021 gig due to Covid, but organisers now say the concert will have to be rescheduled again. The Chemical Brothers' Musgrave Park gig will not be going ahead in 2022 as the band announces they are cancelling "due to illness."

The electronic duo are set to play a set at Arcadia at the festival on Friday 24th June from 11pm - 1am.

We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible but as we have all learnt over the last two excruciating years, covid recovery times and severity of Unfortunately, at short notice we have just had to reschedule our Cork show (once again) due to multiple cases of Covid-19 within the band and crew, despite taking every precaution we possibly could. "We've been thrilled and excited to finally get back on the road to perform our new live show and to be able to dance with you all again - it's an experience we never take for granted.
