Why Manchester United are right to move for Christian Eriksen (The Peoples Person)

Manchester United have offered a contract to Christian Eriksen, according to Tier one journalist David Ornstein, but is the former Ajax player right for ...

However with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard both departing on free transfers, there is certainly room in the side for a player of Eriksen’s quality. With Manchester United often incredibly reliant on Bruno Fernandes for his progressive passing, adding another creator in the mould of Eriksen would not only ease that burden, but bring an air of unpredictability to the attack. But while The Athletic’s Carl Anka sees Eriksen as a “floor-raising” player capable of ‘making flawed teams better and pushing good teams towards greatness,’ he somewhat disparagingly suggests that the potential signing is the ‘kind of business we’ve come to expect’ in the post-Ferguson era.

Football transfer rumours: Christian Eriksen to Manchester United? (The Guardian)

Romelu Lukaku back at Inter? | Raphina to Arsenal or Tottenham? | Adnan Januzaj to West Ham?

Another name with Ajax links who could be heading to United is Antony. The winger has just won the Eredivisie under the new man at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag, so seems a logical choice to join his former manager. One man who could head out of the Elland Road exit door is Raphinha. Arsenal and Tottenham are circling after Barcelona failed to find the bunce to snap up the Brazilian. Chelsea paid £97.5m for him last summer so will be wanting all his wages off their books and a few quid in their back pocket to boot.

Christian Eriksen has handed Manchester United hope in their efforts to sign him on a free transfer by previously suggesting Champions League football 'isn't essential' in his future decision. Despite some early reports suggesting he would be an alternative to top midfield target Frenkie de Jong, that isn't understood to be the case. After signing a short-term deal in January, he surprised many with his performance levels at Brentford, returning from his cardiac arrest during last summer's European Championship.

United, of course, missed out on Champions League football for next season after limping to a sixth-placed finish, and their failure to do so could end up costing them in their pursuit of targets this summer. Eriksen is available as a free agent, with the short-term contract he signed at Brentford due to expire at the end of the month. And, encouragingly for United, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of moving to a club who can't offer him Champions League football.

Manchester United have made an offer to Christian Eriksen who is a target for Everton too and will leave Brentford this summer as a free agent.

One would expect the Denmark international to choose a Champions League playing club but recently Eriksen said that Champions League football isn’t a necessary aspect to be considered when choosing his next club. According to The Athletic, Manchester United have already made an offer to the 30 year old. According to Northern Echo, Eriksen has decided to play his football elsewhere and will not renew a contract with Brentford despite having an offer on the table. Everton need a playmaker and Eriksen is one of the finest when in form. The Danish international’s short term contract expires this summer and even though Brentford will be delighted to keep him, Eriksen seems to be exploring other options. Now, Frank Lampard is in a bid to sign a player with creative and playmaking instincts.

Transfer News: Tottenham, Everton submit offers for Christian Eriksen (The Hard Tackle)

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reportedly submitted contract offers for Christian Eriksen, who is also a target for Manchester United.

The Danish midfielder’s contract with the Bees expires in two weeks, and he is attracting major interest from clubs at the top-end of the table. So, there is a vacancy in the midfield that Frank Lampard is seemingly trying to fill by signing Eriksen. Manchester United have lost two attacking midfielders this summer, with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard departing as free agents, while Paul Pogba has also left the club.

Manchester United have sent a contract offer to free agent Christian Eriksen, and a new report suggests it won't alter their summer business.

Acquiring De Jong is a far more expensive prospect as it is believed that the Catalan outfit rate him in the region of €80 million. United believe the Dutchman is a different kind of midfielder altogether and are pushing to bring both him and Eriksen to the club. As a result, according to the Athletic, United have offered a contract to Eriksen as the Denmark international’s short-term deal with Brentford expires in two weeks’ time.
