George Michael: No plans for ABBA-style hologram show but new ... (Smooth Radio)

George Michael's longtime colleague and friend has spoken about the chances of a hologram tour of the star in the near future.

There were a few tracks that were finished, and that’s where it goes, you know?" And on that level, they kind of work." Speaking about the possibility of unreleased George Michael songs being brought out, David said: "There are three or four recordings that were complete George Michael, finished, mastered recordings. And for me, it felt like a bit of a tribute act. I went to Milan to see a company, and there was one in Vegas. "And I went around, and I had all these people sort of courting me.

The enduring friendship between George Michael and The Big Issue (Big Issue)

In 1996, George Michael bared his soul to us in an exclusive interview. Ahead of Older's re-release, we look back at his unbeatable legacy.

We have over 1,200 Big Issue vendors in the UK. Each vendor buys a copy of the mag for £1.50 and sells it for £3, keeping the difference. As the court case with Sony proved, and his decision to talk to The Big Issue when every news organisation in the world was clamouring for an interview showed, he had a singular vision for how his career should go. Want to buy a copy of the magazine? Take a print or digital subscription to The Big Issue and provide a critical lifeline to our work. The loss of the music never finished – Michael was such a perfectionist the idea of releasing incomplete demos and half-formed ideas feels wrong – is huge. Listening back to more of the album, it is hard to believe that it would still be two years before George Michael officially, unambiguously came out. “They basically shat on me,” he told The Big Issue in that 1996 interview. This was a period of great change for the singer. To understand the music on the LP, it is important to first understand what Michael had been through in the early 1990s. And he also broke his silence, talking to the press for the first time in six years, by doing an exclusive interview with The Big Issue. You can also order a one-off copy from The Big Issue Shop or take out a subscription to support our work. In this week’s edition of The Big Issue, we look back on George Michael’s life and legacy.

The death of his partner is said to have prompted George to come out to his parents and it was after Anselmo's death that his drug use is said to have spiralled out of control. According to the Daily Mail, the author concludes in the book that George died a "pathetic, lonely and broken figure" and that he had turned to drugs to numb his feelings. "That conflict within George, that he knew he was gay but had to lie not only to the world but also to his dad, that was at the root of everything to come," a friend reportedly said. George Michael is said to have died a "lonely and broken figure" who had become reclusive towards the end of his life, according to a biographer in an upcoming book.

George Michael Freedom Uncut Review - HeyUGuys (HeyUGuys)

At the time of George Michael's untimely death back on Christmas Day 2016, the veteran singer was in the midst of putting together this documentary.

We revisit his case with Sony via old news archive footage and previous interview appearances and we are reminded of his phenomenal performance of Somebody to Love for the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in which he was suffering from his own heartbreaking news that his then-lover Anselmo Feleppe had been diagnosed HIV positive. Stevie Wonder – who jokes that he never knew George was white – is just one of the many featured here, each with their own customised vinyl laced with George’s iconic songs describing how each song made them feel and the intricacies of the music. The film grew beyond that initial remit, expanding into a nostalgic look into the singer’s life, behind the mic, on the stage and his personal struggles with grief and love.

As I mentioned, there is an additional 17 minutes in this version, but I don’t know precisely what’s been added, compared to what I’ve already seen. Reviewer of movies, videogames and music since 1994. I was a kid when Wham! started, and even my late grandma was into them because of George, buying their “The Final” LP to enjoy it more and more. Oh, and it’s been a long time since Gervais was funny. I recommend instead that you just listen to his music, instead. Oh, what a shame that would’ve been(!)

George Michael party launches Queer Vision 2022 (Bristol24/7)

Freedom Uncut screening is followed by a DJ set and 'beard bar'

Con artist duo Robert and Theresa Dyne (Richard Jenkins, Debra Winger) have raised their naïve, emotionally stunted, oddly named 26-year-old daughter Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood) to be part of the crappy scams that fuel their hand-to-mouth existence. July tackles the grifter genre in idiosyncratic style in what was her first film in nearly a decade. Ed’s life changed at the age of 44 when he was selected to appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race. But Workhorse Queen doesn’t just tell a feelgood yarn. His Georgeship isn’t the only throwback to the 1980s in Bristol Pride‘s annual celebration of LGBT+ filmmaking. To get you in the mood, Queer Vision’s screening will be preceded by a suitably quirky performance by Roseanna Anderson, co-founder and director of Impermanence. Non-musical documentary highlights include Angela Washko’s Workhorse Queen, which tells the story of Rochester’s Ed Popil – telemarketeer by day and drag queen Kasha Davies by night.
