IND vs SA 2nd T20I Highlights: Heinrich Klaasen scored a brilliant half-century as South Africa beat India by 4 wickets.

India vs South Africa, 2nd T20I Highlights: Heinrich Klaasen's magnificent knock of 81 off 46 powered South Africa to a four-wicket win over India in the second T20I as the visitors took a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series. He was eventually dismissed by Harshal Patel, and then Wayne Parnell fell to Bhuvneshwar Kumar -- who returned excellent figures of 4/13 -- but by then, South Africa had the match in the bag. Earlier, some brilliant bowling helped the Proteas restrict India to 148/6. Shreyas Iyer top-scored for India with 40, while Ishan Kishan scored a 21-ball 34.

India vs South Africa 2nd T20I: Heinrich Klaasen guides Proteas to 4 ... (Scroll.in)

The wicketkeeper-batter scored a brilliant 46-ball 81 as the Proteas won with 10 balls to spare.

Kagiso Rabada (1/15), Parnell (1/23), Anrich Nortje (2/36), Pretorius (1/40) and Keshav Maharaj (1/12 from two overs) were the wicket-takers for South Africa. Ishan Kishan (34 off 21) and Shreyas Iyer (40 off 25) then added a partnership but the latter struggled to get the boundaries and the Proteas got the advantage. Earlier, India weren’t off to a great start with the bat as opener Ruturaj Gaikwad (1 off 4) was dismissed in the first over.

CRR: 7.52. RR : 7.32. Batting, R(B), 4s, 6s, SR. Heinrich Klaasen*, 49(30), 6, 2, 163.33. David Miller, 6(4), 1, 0, 150. Bowling, O, M, R, W.

That wasn't to be, and it's going to be a difficult task for India to fight back as they'll have to win three games on the bounce. The off-stump has been knocked over and that's the fourth wicket of the night for Bhuvi. If only India had managed to post a few more runs, things would have been interesting. Not a great day for the spinners to be honest. The coach and captain's decision, Klaasy hasn't played much recently and for him to come in and play the way he did.. 18.2 Shreyas Iyer to Miller, 2 runs, Miller hits the winning runs. The conditions in which he played and to come out and do what he did made it easy for us at the back end. We knew we had to execute our plans, and we had to be clinical. I am glad it happened against India. I am honored to be here, and I am lucky to be here. But after that we weren't up to the mark. We could have bowled better, hope we improve in the next game. That's the role I play in the game, to close it off. Barring Bhuvneshwar Kumar, rest of the Indian bowlers have looked pretty mediocre in the couple of matches so far.

India vs South Africa, 2nd T20I: Heinrich Klaasen Heroics Give ... (NDTVSports.com)

IND vs SA: Heinrich Klaasen's brilliant 81 powered South Africa to a 4-wicket win over India in the 2nd T20I.

After the sedate start, it was Kishan (34 from 21 balls) who provided the firepower in the power play, smashing Nortje for two sixes to improve their run-rate. Bhuvneshwar, who looked out of sorts in the Kotla T20I, was back in his element as he sharply swung the ball back in to clean up Reeza Hendricks in his first over. But it was not enough as they just needed three runs from the last two overs and the in-form David Miller (20 not out) completed the win to give the Proteas a commanding 2-0 lead going into the Vizag T20I on June 14.

India vs South Africa: Proteas trump Men in Blue in battle of ... (Firstpost)

South Africa outperformed India in all departments and went 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series with a comfortable four-wicket win in Cuttack on Sunday.

Pandya tried to cut, but the ball came too close to him for that, and he was bowled. They lost two more wickets, of Axar and Iyer, and could add only another 56 in the last seven overs despite Karthik’s onslaught. Earlier in the night, India had a mini-collapse in the middle overs, and were suddenly four down in the 13th over. He hit the first ball he faced to cover, but Bavuma could not hold on. Pant had already left the crease, and the ball was so far away that all he could do was hit towards off as hard as possible without reaching its line. Gaikwad, perhaps anticipating another bouncer, was late on to the shot and sliced to point. Almost to make a mockery of the sequence of bowlers, they conceded a total of nine runs, and took a wicket apiece. The five-bowlers-one-all-rounder model had worked for both Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals this season; South Africa replicated them twice in this T20I series. Karthik had to come out in the next over, and remained unbeaten on a 21-ball 30 in the end to help India reach 148/6. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, whose spell of 3-0-10-3 had set South Africa back in the Powerplay overs, was the most obvious choice. With Miller also hitting a six, the match was as good as over. South Africa were favourites, but a wicket would have brought India back into the match.

India vs South Africa: Hosts' all-out attack batting style in T20Is ... (Firstpost)

So, now with a situation where India need to win all three matches to keep the series, a little thought into the batting processes won’t be a bad thing. What the Indian Premier League has done is that is has made the batters and bowlers familiar with each other’s tendencies. Sadly, this Indian XI does not have that one grafter, and that has been to its detriment. When a side is defending just 148 runs, bowlers going at 19 runs an over, or 12.3 or 10.3 basically means that the match is out of your grasp. While it would be unfair to say that they have made a total hash of the two matches played so far, some things definitely need a second look, not least the home team’s batting approach. The immediate differences between Barabati and the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi are quite evident.

While Axar could be given only one over in which he conceded 19 runs, Chahal was equally bad as he was smashed for 49 runs in four overs.

"Klaasen can do a lot of damage with a couple of ball. They got the ball to talk with the new ball, it was tricky. Yesterday morning, we came to training and the coach told me I might play." "Quinny (De Kock) came up to me two days back in the team bus and said he injured his wrists. I am very happy and confident to be here," Klaasen said. "The bowlers started really well, but after 10-11 overs, we did not bowl well and that's where the game changed.

The right-arm quick has bowled well in patches but hasn't been able to put up a comprehensive show with the ball. Hooda has been in the form of his life and he could provide the late impetus with the bat in the death overs. Hardik's performance with the ball has been ordinary while his batting in the first T20I was impressive. The acting skipper hasn't had a memorable first two games and ended up tasting defeats in his first two games. The Mumbaikar was the highest scorer for India in the second T20I but his struggles against pace were exposed yet again. He might have been dismissed cheaply in Cuttack but the team management might still stick with him.

India vs South Africa Live Cricket Score 2nd T20I: India lose wickets at regular intervals after Proteas captain Temba Bavuma opts to bowl.

Hello and welcome to the LIVE coverage of the second T20I between India and South Africa. Post the IPL razzmatazz, the focus shifted to international cricket, with Rishabh Pant making captaincy debut in KL Rahul's absence. He played just three matches for Rajasthan Royals but notched up his seventh T20 half-century, and even hit the winning boundary in his 46-ball innings. Having not lost a T20I series in India against the Men in Blue, they will be looking forward to adding another series win under their belt. India and South Africa have faced one another on 16 occasions. His thunderbolts rattled even the best of batting attacks in the IPL. But will he win rave reviews in India colours? For South Africa, Quinton de Kock remains key at the top. India are walking at the top when it comes to aggressive batting. It is going to skid through and not much for the spinners. India openers Ishan and Gaikwad also walk to the middle. Short from Kagiso Rabada... Ishan pulls it in the air but it falls short of the fielder. Just one more over to go in the powerplay. Runs have dried for India in the last five-six overs and couple of wickets have fallen too.

India are unchanged from the XI that posted their highest total against South Africa, which means we'll have to wait to see Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh in action. However, given the confidence South Africa's line-up showed in the first match, they would prefer to stick to a winning strategy. Reeza Hendrickswill open the batting with Bavuma and Heinrich Klaasenwas included as wicket-keeper.

Bhuvneshwar's solo act not enough in Cuttack, as India fall two down (The Indian Express)

Indian hopes lingered after his three-wicket burst had South Africa on the knees in pursuit of a modest score of 148. But they soon went up in smoke and blended ...

The deception was devious — the ball was full, but not drivable, there was width, but not enough for Gaikwad to free his arms and drive. Patel was meted out a six and a brace of boundaries in the only over he bowled. The persistent Dwaine Pretorius put Iyer out of his misery while Nortje and Wayne Parnell strangled the home side with aggression and smarts. That barely sufficed in the end. Instead, he saw the ball cut back into him like an errant driver at a U-turn and disarray his leg-stump. But he had a large box to tick, his ability to play spin bowling in the subcontinent. He would step out and swing the left-arm wrist-spinner for a six and a four. The sluggish nature of the strip induced numerous mistimed and miscued strokes. After six overs, including the splendid Bhuvneshwar spell that read 3-0-10-3, South Africa were 29/3. That was as good as it got for the hosts in search of a series-levelling win. But the backlog of dot balls would haunt him. Indian hopes lingered after his three-wicket burst had South Africa on the knees in pursuit of a modest score of 148. Among the prospects for World Cup spots, only Ishan Kishan is presenting a sturdy case for inclusion.

Captain Bavuma didn't use his spinners much in the game as the hosts were targeting them well but the five frontline Protea pacers did well to restrict Indians to a low total. Iyer and Ishan started cautiously and build their partnership in the powerplay but both the batters failed to convert their innings into big knocks on a surface where batting wasn't looking easy. Having put in to bat first, the Rishabh Pant-led side could only muster 148 for the loss of 6 wickets.
