It is one of the four atolls located in the western hemisphere and it is famous for the Great Blue Hole located in its centre. It is located between Hawaii and Australia in the capital of Tuvalu. Caroline Island is one of the most clean and pure tropical islands in the world with one of the largest population of coconut crabs. It surrounds the island below the ocean surface that is what makes the water between the reef and the island, a lagoon. It surrounds a body of water called a lagoon, which is a shallow body of water separated from the larger body of water. The atoll prevented the Kon-Tiki from docking on the island and wrecked on the coral of the second, Raroia atoll.

An atoll refers to a ring-shaped coral reef, island, or series of islets. It surrounds a body of water called a lagoon.

Rangiro remains one of the largest atolls worldwide. The water of the lagoon is clear blue. Funafuti is the capital of Tuvalu, an island located in the Pacific Ocean. It remains the second-least populous sovereign state in the world. The top of the volcano becomes an oceanic island. As the volcano continues to erupt, the elevation of the seamount grows higher, thus breaking the surface of the water. The wonders of nature never fail to impress mankind, and an atoll is one of them.
