There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. But said he had not heard the rumor until she brought it up in court. 'She had thrown a bottle of vodka and smashed my, smashed and cut my finger off,' Depp said. 'We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. The bottle severed his fingertip, he said. Depp recalled the incident in Jamaica when Moss slipped. He saw her walk out and slip down a set of three wooden stairs onto her back. Tremaine reached out to Depp's team a few days ago and said he wanted to help with the 'timeline.' 'Should I not just bust in and remove its hinges tonight???' the text read. Like, the other side of his d--k when I slice it off.' Neumeister said he analyzed several iterations of the photo presented. Which made me realize the time I blew on that 50 cent stripper…

Stop Forcing Me to Endure the Horror of Depp v. Heard (The Cut)

For much of the internet, the defamation trial against Amber Heard by Johnny Depp has turned toxic relationships and intimate partner violence into ...

“I was only just starting to silence the voices in my head that were calling me a liar,” says Dawson. Now she’s overwhelmed by them. “I do feel like there are editorial decisions being made at Twitter and at Facebook to feature certain topics really prominently, to feature the livestreams of the trial,” she says. I had flashbacks of how much I harmed myself and allowed others to harm me by not taking what was rightfully mine as a wife and how difficult it was to reinvent my life.” To be clear, it’s not just that the physical space itself is suddenly on everyone’s screens — it’s what’s happening in that space, of all places, that has been the most painful. And when survivors are confronted with, say, a makeup brand making a lighthearted joke about the foundation Heard allegedly used to cover bruises or TikTokers doing trial reenactments, our traumatized brains kick into action. “It feels like the world wants me dead,” she says. For Dawson, it’s not merely memories of abuse that have upended her ability to function. Not because Heard is being demonized by Depp’s fans, or because I fear my own abuser taking a cue from Depp and attempting to destroy me in court. On TikTok, it’s even worse: The algorithm’s lack of transparency (and lack of user control) makes curating content a challenge. On YouTube, film critics have switched over to offering trial commentary, and on TikTok, clips from the trial have become memes. Kent’s own stylist was particularly enthusiastic, telling her, “‘I can’t believe they’re taking a break for two weeks, I don’t know what I’m going to do for entertainment for the next two weeks.’ Entertainment!” Over the past month and a half, the trial has metastasized into a full-on cultural phenomenon. Personally, the fire hose of trial coverage has been actively distressing.

After losing a bid to dismiss Heard's defamation countersuit, Depp's defense called on forensic, medical, social media, and entertainment experts to refute experts previously called by Heard's defense.
