Tatiana Maslany Goes Green in Marvel's 'She Hulk' Trailer (Rolling Stone)

Tatiana Maslany is ready to smash things in the first trailer for upcoming Marvel Studios/Disney+ comedy-action series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

“I just want to be a normal, anonymous lawyer,” Jennifer moans in the clip, which is followed by clips showing She Hulk’s rise to notoriety. The series will follow the next Marvel Studios series, Ms. Marvel, which centers on New Jersey teen Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who suddenly gains superpowers of her own. The trailer reveals Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases.

She-Hulk Trailer Reveals Jennifer, Frog-Man, and More! (Den of Geek)

There are some fresh MCU faces in Marvel's first She-Hulk trailer, and also some very familiar ones.

As for the non-powered civilians to show up in the trailer, there’s nothing much to say. It will be interesting to see what they have in store for this guy down the line. Mark Ruffalo returns as the hybrid Hulk introduced in Avengers: Endgame. Considering his arms are both normal, I would imagine the scenes with him are flashbacks and take place during the Blip. The She-Hulk transformation initially appears to be like what the Hulk was initially: fear and anger turning the person into a rage monster. Jameela Jamil will be Titania, a character introduced in the original Secret Wars event back in 1984. It succeeded in keeping Walters alive, but it also gave her the ability to become a green gamma beast. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be coming out this August with nine episodes and, looking at the trailer, it gives us a comedic, albeit down-to-earth look at what society is in the MCU.

She-Hulk trailer shows Disney+ could have another big hit (Pocket-lint.com)

Marvel has released a trailer for its forthcoming new TV series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

We will also be treated with Ms. Marvel soon, with the similarly new show debuting on 8 June, and details on Hawkeye spin-off Echo are starting to appear. A cousin of Bruce Banner (the Hulk), Walters gains similar abilities, turning 6 foot seven, green and superstrong when in danger. With Moon Knight recently finishing to rave reviews, and the likes of WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye being loved by critics and fans alike, Marvel Studios can seemingly do no wrong.

She-Hulk trailer: Fans defend 'rough' CGI as Tatiana Maslany arrives (Metro)

Tatiana Maslany smashes onto the scene in the official She-Hulk trailer as Bruce Banner's cousin as fans defend 'rough' and 'unfinished' CGI.

And being a Tatiana fan for a long while, having been following her work. ‘#SheHulk looks great, I am not worried about CGI. There is still a lot of time for Marvel to work on it. The trailer reveals a first look at Tim Roth’s return as Abomination in the series, a role he first played in Incredible Hulk and recently reprised in Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. In a moment reminiscent of the humour associated with the character in the Marvel comics, at the end of the trailer, Jennifer is going on a stream of dates before one catches her attention, and the pair head back to her place – where she carries her date like a baby off-screen. Luckily, it works, and Jennifer appears to begin revelling in her new life as She-Hulk… and all of the glitzy fame that comes with being a superpowered being.

'She-Hulk' Poster Sees Marvel's Latest Green Superhero Laying ... (Collider.com)

The poster for the newest Disney+ MCU series She-Hulk is here, and shows Tatiana Maslany as a big, green attorney-at-law.

As this promo piece cheekily teases, Jennifer Walters, a hard-working lawyer who doubles as our giant green, mutated titular character, isn't afraid to blend her work life with her personal life, creating a ferocious dual identity that makes her one of a kind — both in life and in the court. Whether the show pulls off its goofy tone remains to be seen, but this official poster makes it clear that She-Hulk will be a feminist rally call that's unafraid to play up the comic character's silly side. As we've now seen from the show's official trailer and other newly-released promotional materials, Disney is entirely in the swing of getting the word out on their latest small-screen event series.

The show stars Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) as Jennifer Walters, an ace attorney who gains Hulk-like abilities– the same as her cousin, Bruce Banner (Mark ...

On the other end of the show’s title card, the teaser ends with a comedic look at Jennifer’s dating life as She-Hulk. She bemoans dating in her 30s, but as She-Hulk, she gets a veritable flood of online dating matches. She’s a super-strong, super durable threat, and has established herself in the comics as a formidable rival to She-Hulk. Considering her background with supergroups like the Masters of Evil and the Frightful Four, it would be no surprise if Jamil is tapped for future appearances after her showdown with She-Hulk. There are actually two versions of this character in the comics - the first is Vincent Patilio, aka Leap-Frog. He’s an inventor who designed a powered set of “leaping coils” that nobody cared about, so he used them for crime until he got busted by Daredevil. Then his well-intentioned son, Eugene Patilio, used his father’s invention to clumsily fight crime as Frog-Man. Of all the things Eugene could have done with his life, he decides to follow his father’s webbed footsteps and put on a frog suit. She-Hulk may turn out to be a slice-of-life narrative first and a superhero action-adventure romp second, and that’s just fine. Early in the trailer, we saw a group of shadowy-looking dudes with an eclectic choice of weapons: a crowbar, a hook, and… Despite her disdain, the trailer makes it clear that superpowers and heroics are a package deal for Jennifer with a rapid-fire montage with some of the show’s costumed villains. The version we get in She-Hulk may be an amalgamation of the two, but I secretly hope it’s Frog-Man over Leap-Frog, because then that will mean there are canonically not just one, but two whole Frog-Men in the MCU. Our first real look at She-Hulk is downright smashing as she busts the wall of saw blades and rips off the door in a fury at her cousin’s frightening methods. The trailer kicks off with the Los Angeles city skyline and a voiceover from Bruce Banner, who waxes philosophically to Jennifer about the difficult road to becoming a superhero. “That is for billionaires, and narcissists, and adult orphans.” One possible candidate could be The Vault. Abomination’s cameo in Shang-Chi had him sparring with Wong (Benedict Wong) at the fight club in Macau, only for Wong to give him fighting tips while escorting him through a portal to the very same prison cell we see in the She-Hulk trailer. Other than that, she has a stressful new job, what we know about Jennifer is that she has friends with large personalities, while she seems to have a rather reserved, unassuming, by-the-book nature.

Titania certainly makes an impression in her fringed bodysuit, leggings, and gold-trimmed jacket, and while that’s completely different from the outfit she wears in the comics it’s certainly evocative of the 1980s, when she was first introduced into comic canon. In the comics, Titania is born as Mary MacPherran, an unassuming girl from Denver, Colorado who dreams of becoming a superhero. What you may not know is that the action-packed She-Hulk trailer featured our first glimpse of Titania, and she lives up to her name.

Marvel Fans Are Asking Why 'She-Hulk' Isn't Hulked Out (Forbes)

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the eighth MCU show on Disney+, starring Tatiana Maslany as the lawyer who transforms into the titular green giant, ...

The most recent comics lean towards a bigger, more intimidating She-Hulk. The trailer highlights the big difference between She-Hulk and (He)Hulk, as the latter looks like a green neanderthal, his body shape distorted by bulging muscle, like a gorilla overdosed on steroids. Fans also questioned the wonky CGI, as again, the difference between the two Hulks is quite dramatic - He-Hulk looks far more realistic, the visual effects team likely able to reuse the digital asset from the films, which has been perfected over several years of blockbuster appearances, as well as the character being older, more weather-beaten, which gives the creature more texture.

The First Trailer For She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Has Us ... (Esquire.com)

Here's what we know about the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series 'She-Hulk' so far, including a breakdown of its first trailer.

Directed by Kat Coiro (Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9) and Anu Valia (Episodes 5, 6, 7) with Jessica Gao as head writer, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The idea of a superhero-themed court procedural comedy sounds pretty damn fun, especially with Maslany and Mark Ruffalo as the leads. Regardless, the trailer graces with Walters in full She-Hulk mode, which includes, but is not limited to: Hulk-jumping, right-swiping on dating apps, smashing bad people, and grabbing drinks after work.

Can the 'She-Hulk' Series Escape Its Comic Book Issues? (Collider.com)

Disney+ dropped the new trailer for the Tatiana Maslany-led She-Hulk series, but it seems to play into the unfortunate tropes of the comics.

I hope that the trailer is highlighting a few of these moments to play into the sitcom vibes, and that the actual series will delve deeper. Maybe it’s a byproduct of the uncanny valley-ness of the character design, but each glamified She-Hulk scene shown in the trailer looks like an entirely different actress being rendered. Her transformations don’t make her more sexually appealing, she is allowed to be more grotesque and less aimed toward the male gaze. Sure, there are some details of Maslany that are recognizable in the transformation, but they still get lost in the jarring design choices. Most of her comic runs feature her half-dressed, shielding her naked body with a newspaper, or bikini-clad on the covers. They are tasked with quick turnarounds, long hours, and underfunded teams, and they are not covered by the same union regulations and protections as most of the industry, which results in rampant exploitation.
