The first reactions for Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 1 are in, and critics are calling it the most high-stakes, scariest season yet.

The return of Stranger Things is just around the corner, with the first half of the beloved series' fourth season set to arrive on Netflix on May 27. While the reviews aren't set to release until May 23, those who were in attendance are allowed to give their first reactions to the episode on social media, with most of the reactions coming out of the event praising the episodes, setting up what could be the best season of the series let. Other early reactions are also showering praise upon the premiere episode, saying that the season is shaping up to be the scariest yet for the series.

The cast of Stranger Things gathered in Brooklyn on Saturday, May 14, to celebrate their season 4 premiere, and these kids sure have grown up.

Similar to Sink, Ryder wore an oversized suit, this one being a black three-piece over a simple white shirt with the cuffs peeking out of her blazer's sleeves. She paired the dress with tall black open-toe heels and left her newly blonde hair fall down her shoulders. The gown's waist was cinched with a silver and black belt.

She's struggling with her identity and this is the darkest state she's ever been in. Season four, which will be released in two volumes on Netflix—the first dropping May 27, the second on July 1—takes place in three different locations with various groups of characters driving forward three different narratives. "This is the most emotional season for Eleven. She's powerless and trying to fit in at a new school and she's trying to understand who she is and where she came from.

The cast of "Stranger Things" attended the season four premiere in New York City on Saturday before it hits Netflix on May 27.

Check The Tag reported that Hawke's black gown was designed by Dior and appeared in the spring 2017 ready-to-wear collection. McLaughlin, 20, embraced polka dots for the "Stranger Things" season 4 premiere on Saturday when he arrived in a unique outfit. "There aren't other people that are doing similar things to this, so as the fan in me, I was just freaking out." Sadie Sink, 20, stunned in an all-white pantsuit with a dazzling choker and rings. she wrote in the caption. He paired the outfit with matching pink pants and gold tennis shoes. David Harbour stole the show when he arrived in a "Stranger Things" suit custom-made by Union Western Clothing. The suit jacket was decorated with the series' characters, including monsters like Demogorgons, Eggo Waffles, and significant locations fans have come to love. "Inspired by Kyle Lambert's incredible poster art it was a pleasure to work with stylist Lucy Manning and the Netflix team to bring this project to life." The black gown featured spaghetti straps with gothic motifs adorned across the fabric, including what appeared to be a red bat on the abdomen. Wolfhard portrays Mike Wheeler in the series. Philippe Uter styled Schnapp, 17, in Dior for the occasion. Fashion Bomb Daily reported that Louis Vuitton designed the custom dress.

The "Stranger Things 4" cast teases Vecna, the show's newest villain, at Netflix's season premiere red carpet event.

“Vecna is very scary,” Ferguson said. “The craziest thing is just how new and fresh the villain feels compared to what we’ve had before,” Matarazzo said. Dustin, Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp) are now new members of the Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s “Dungeons & Dragons” crew. “It’s something that messes with your mind. “In a way, a piece of him does die when this happens,” Harbour said. That’s exciting because he is a true big bad that we’ve needed in the series.”
