Away from the entertainment world, Mika has been important in charity and humanitarian causes. Known in the music industry for his versatile voice - which has performed everything from pop to opera - multi-lingual Mika was chosen to serve as a judge and mentor on the French version of The Voice and X Factor Italia. Since launching his debut album, he has gone onto release four more and from 2013 has spent the majority of his time in Tuscany, Italy - where he has a house and studio.

Laura Pausini has been dubbed one of the most respected Italian recording artists in the world. The singer, who also speaks Spanish, has won four Latin Grammys, a Grammy Award and a Golden Globe. Alessandro Cattelan, meanwhile, has forged a successful career presenting TV and radio, spanning 20 years. He also presented satirical news programme Le Iene on channel Italia 1. Some 26 acts will be performing their hearts out to be crowned Eurovision champion in Turin, Italy on Saturday night (May 14). The Lollipop singer told The One Show: "I learnt it in a couple of months, luckily my Italian is better now, the ironic thing about this whole thing is that I'm going to do Eurovision, the biggest TV show Italy has ever had to put on, and the whole thing is in English."

EUROVISION host and singer Mika has been slammed by fans of the song contest for 'snubbing' Ukraine's entry Kalush Orchestra.

Graham Norton quipped: “Holland aren’t even in it. Mika said: “On this side we have Ukraine and we are very happy to be here with you and for you to be here with us.” However, Mika kept hold of the microphone and moved on to introducing the next act.
