This year’s event is being hosted by Italy after Italian rock band Maneskin won the 2021 competition. The band’s live performance features synchronised dance moves, breakdance and flutes. Ukraine are obviously a tough act to follow, but Germany and Lithuania’s entries did their best. The contest is known for its colourful and brash performances and Saturday night’s final in Turin, Italy, is expected to be no different. The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 final will be starting at 8pm in Turin.

Laura Pausini is possibly the most awarded Italian. artist in the world. Mika is a pop star who has been under the radar since he burst onto the music scene back in 2007. Alessandro Cattelan is very well known in Italy as a TV presenter. His song, Space Man, is about an astronaut travelling into space. De diepte is about her own personal struggles. Their song Stefania is a tribute to frontman Oleh Psiuk's mother. It's Eurovision fans' favourite day of the year. Scroll down for the latest. But, following accusations that she previously visited Crimea illegally, Kalush Orchestra, the runner-up, was asked to compete instead. Her first album Snowsniper won a prestigious national award called an Edison Award. The popular Italian singer is the first artist to perform on the Eurovision stage tonight. Stien, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, often writes about mental health.
