A Public Prosecution Service spokesperson said: “The PPS case sections of Fraud and High Court and International worked in partnership with the National Crime Agency to compile a strong body of evidence in this case and have this individual produced to the court in Northern Ireland. “The sentence handed down to Adams today is the result of hard work and dedication from Border Force, the NCA and our partners in the Republic of Ireland to tackle dirty money. In August 2021, while he was still serving his sentence, he was transported by the Gardai to the border just south of Newry where he was picked up by NCA officers.

Suspect accused of driving off in car with police officer on bonnet ... (Belfast Telegraph)

A man accused of driving a car at speed with a police officer clinging to the bonnet was described as a danger to the public when he appeared in court ...

The car was later found abandoned in the Shantallow area of the city on the same afternoon. As the police approached him the defendant got back into his car and revved the engine. As the car went faster and faster the officer let go of the bonnet.

Co Antrim man accused of choking and hitting policewoman after ... (Belfast Telegraph)

A man allegedly choked and struck a policewoman in the face after crashing his car into a telegraph pole, the High Court heard today.

That was the context in which he was said to have assaulted the police officer. The judge pointed out: “He was alleged to be under the influence of alcohol, crashed the car and attempted to escape. Crown lawyer Michael Wilson said an Audi A4 car struck a telegraph pole on the Ballymacombs Road in a “hit and run” incident on April 12.
