Happy Star Wars Day! 6 ways to celebrate May the 4th, from ... (USA TODAY)

It's Star Wars Day! Whether you're all about the nine-film Skywalker Saga or just adore Baby Yoda, here are six ways to celebrate May the 4th.

Lots of places discount their Star Wars merch on May 4, and StarWars.com has a roundup of all the coolest stuff, from Han and Leia "I love you/I know" wedding bands to Baby Yoda dashboard wavers. And next week, Obi-Wan and Anakin fans will want to check out the new novel "Star Wars: Brotherhood" set just after the "Attack of the Clones" prequel film. StarWarsKids.com is a one-stop resource for children to find out about all the characters and creatures fans love. The flagship "Star Wars" comic is currently filling in the time between "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" as Luke comes to grips with Darth Vader being his dad. “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch spinning out of the prequel-era "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," which features Obi-Wan and Anakin before they turned into mortal enemies. If the newest "Star Wars" trilogy hasn't been exciting enough, the rash of recent comic books and novels – most of them pretty rad – have fleshed out stories not seen in the movies.

Star Wars Day 2022: Celebrate May the 4th with a galaxy of stellar ... (Louder)

May the 4th be with you. Here's our favourite Star Wars Day items including a Lego Millennium Falcon, a beautifully crafted lightsaber and a Death Star fire ...

I've lost count of the number of Lego Star Wars games - but this new title released in April shakes everything up with a new third-person player perspective and much more. And, from May 27, you’ll also be able to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan McGregor. The channel is also home to Disney, Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic and Star. This Filmcells night light is a must for all stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire and comes with remote and choice of 16 colour variations. Then get your geek on with this necktie featuring the universe’s most famous droids. This year's Star Wars Day comes a few weeks before the launch of Disney+ mini-series Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is set to hit the streaming service on May 27. There’s also a double pack with Kylo Ren and a Sith Trooper to collect. This Lego BrickHeadz set features The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. Once built, they can be displayed on your shelves, with The Child coming complete with his trusty hover pram. Heading back to the office? It’s made by SciFiTies who also have a range of other novelty ties, which are all modelled by the Imperial fleet's most fashionable stormtrooper. This IS the box set you've been looking for! What was once a fan-generated jamboree (Jawaboree?) is now recognised by the official Star Wars channels, with their social media accounts sharing posts using the hashtag #MayThe4thBeWithYou to mark the occasion. There’s also an automatic colour changing mode, so you can pretend you’re at a disco at the Mos Eisley cantina.

And when you’re done, you’re left with an absolutely stunning display piece that can take pride of place on your display shelf. If you’re an older Star Wars fan who wants to relive one of the classic moments from the original Star Wars movie, then this set is perfect for you. Stay on target with the newly released Lego Star Wars Death Star Trench Run diorama set. The completed Death Star Trench Run diorama is a beautiful little display piece that would look excellent on the shelf in any Star Wars fan’s home. From there on, the bulk of the build involves building the trench floor and walls.

5 Highlights from the Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer (Star Wars)

As seen in the new trailer, the hunt is on for the Jedi — and Obi-Wan in particular. The official trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi has arrived in celebration of May the 4th, and it’s filled with new imagery and details from the upcoming limited series. Stormtroopers stalk the streets, and the Empire’s Jedi-hunting Inquisitors lead the charge. Obi-Wan Kenobi, starting May 27 on Disney+, follows Ewan McGregor’s legendary Jedi Master 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The Empire reigns and the few surviving Jedi are in hiding, with Kenobi living in secret on Tatooine and watching over Luke Skywalker from afar. These are the dark times, indeed. While Obi-Wan delivered a newborn Luke Skywalker to Owen Lars, the Tatooine moisture farmer — and stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker — seems to want nothing more to do with Kenobi. It’s a sentiment that draws a straight line to his concerns in Star Wars: A New Hope.

Our Favorite Star Wars Memories (Star Wars)

To celebrate Star Wars Day, some current StarWars.com writers reflect on their favorite moments as Star Wars fans.

Several years later, I attended my first red carpet event: the Solo: A Star Wars Story world-premiere in Hollywood, California. And that C-3PO action figure was there with me, safely tucked into my coat pocket, to commemorate my first step into that larger world. After so many missed opportunities, I finally got to see Star Wars for the first time, under the stars, at a drive-in movie theater: the Twin-Do drive-in in Metairie, Louisiana. While that specific theater is no longer in existence, the memory has lasted a lifetime and has spring-boarded my love for this mythology into countless moments and experiences. I fought the temptation to blurt out anything about Star Wars and totally derail the table-wide conversation (for a behind-the-scenes Star Wars nerd like me, this was next to impossible). At the end of the dinner, Gary walked over to me. He was a gentleman, and a member of that small and elite unit who helped make Star Wars what it was and what it is today. In my teenage years I was the proud owner of a portable CD player, and there was only one thing I wanted to listen to with it. Whether I was on a school bus in the dark morning hours or curled up under a blanket, I took my CD player and Star Wars along as my personal soundtrack. When I wanted to “watch” Star Wars, I loaded up the first disc, closed my eyes, and replayed the movie in my imagination. Through a message board for Star Wars literature fans, I made friends with some Czech fans, helping them with some translations, and got to meet a few of them in person when I visited Prague in 2004. And that was the start of my lifelong love of Star Wars. – Dustin Diehl One of my earliest memories is going to see a re-release of Return of the Jedi in Manhattan with them in 1985, taking all my action figures and lining them up on one seat, and then watching the movie perched from my dad’s lap. That first movie theater experience was the spark that lit my passion for the Star Wars universe. On Star Wars Day, there are countless ways to celebrate the Star Wars fan community and the the saga that unites us.

Watch the new 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' trailer for Star Wars Day this May ... (Space.com)

Deals, offers, nostalgia and now, new footage of the forthcoming show as "Star Wars" fans celebrate May the 4th.

Disney's 'Obi-Wan' Is Set To Resolve A Lingering 'Star Wars' Plot Hole (Forbes)

The series will feature Moses Ingram as Reva, a former Jedi, now of the Empire’s Inquisitors, who seems determined to track down Obi-Wan, and seems to share a personal history with him. Lastly, it is believed that Tatooine is such a backwater planet, floating in the middle of nowhere, that Vader’s forces wouldn’t even bother to look there. Even Boba Fett’s greatest ambition was to rule the “backwater” planet.

Behind the Panels of Marvel's Star Wars: Obi-Wan #1 ... (Star Wars)

Star Wars: Obi-Wan #1 artist Ario Anindito reveals never-before-seen art, including concept sketches, page layouts, and more with his own insights.

His ‘lost years’ are always fascinating for many of us Star Wars fans, and I think his adventure in this book is one important piece of the puzzle that shaped him to become what he is.” And at the same time he’s also fragile, but he’s very determined to be brave and overcome his fragility. “In order to make her distinctive, I gave her long black hair and a pair of ‘devil horns,’ so that she looks evil, but in style. “In the second part is the ‘story from the journal,’ so I changed the style. She’s way more brave and mature than kid Obi, and that’s what I put in her expressions, and it set her apart from kid Obi. There is no doubt in her. How she’s sad, and holds onto the pendant dearly because it reminds her of those she longs for. “For the pendant, there was no specific description about it other than it’s made from rare and valuable Eadun silver. “I wanted to give a different treatment to those two parts, so I made the first part in pencil, not inked, and looking more rough. He collects stuff that he sees fit, and he brought all the stuff he needs for his adventure. To mark the Star Wars Day release of Obi-Wan #1, StarWars.com caught up with Anindito, who opened up his sketchbook and shared his early explorations and penciled pages for a look at the making of the issue, while providing commentary for his process. I imagine her as a combination of a female wolf and a serpent, lurking in the shadow and observing. The overall tone in the first pages is also very yellow and dusty, in contrast with the second part.”

May The Fourth Be With You: another look at the new Star Wars spinoff (Irish Examiner)

Yes, it is that old gag again - but Ewan MacGregor and Hayden Christensen reprise their 'Prequel Trilogy' roles in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', a new Disney+ series.

The big story for series devotees is the return of actor Hayden Christensen to reprise his role as young Anakin Skywalker, whose descent into darkness and assumption of the Darth Vader name formed the basis of the Prequel Trilogy, running to a mixed response from theatre-goers and series fans from 1998 to 2003. The initial teaser for the show is here: Ewan MacGregor is set to return to his role in the extended Star Wars series as a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master and the mentor figure to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the so-called 'Prequel Trilogy' of 1990s films.

Lego Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet review (Space.com)

The Lego Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet is the largest yet, and its captivating build will delight Sith Lords and Jedi Masters alike.

If you’d rather pick up something to occupy a youngling then the Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon might be a more suitable alternative. The lack of playability and challenging construction make it a hard sell for children, but older builders will have a blast putting it together. If you can get past the toothy appearance, Darth Vader’s helmet is a fine ornament that will look excellent adorning a minimalist office or Sith temple. The more challenging build and lack of playability is why all Star Wars Helmets carry an 18+ rating and Darth Vader is no exception. We found ours crumpled at the bottom of the box and as a result the tip of one example doesn’t stick down properly. And, if you’re a low-key Sith fan looking for one of the best Lego Star Wars sets to adorn your desk, this could be the ornament you’re looking for… It’s hard to conceive a practical reason for Lego’s omission, especially when it detracts from the otherwise stellar representation. Vader’s jaw, lip at the base of the neck, and neck guard all make great use of U clips to achieve accurate angles. Lego has done a good job of spreading out the construction of the internal framework, which helps maintain interest as the exterior steadily progresses. A keen eye is required when searching for the right brick and if you’re not paying attention, it’s possible to plump for a similar-looking but wrong alternative. Such is the accuracy of the build and its clever construction, you might begin to wonder if Vader’s sorcerer’s ways had a hand in Lego’s creation. The eyes and internal structure beneath the dome come next, then the dome itself, and finally the neck guard.
