Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer Breakdown: Darth Vader, 4-LOM ... (Den of Geek)

Obi-Wan Kenobi faces off against the Darth Vader, Inquisitors, bounty hunters, and stormtroopers in the latest trailer for the upcoming Star Wars series!

And here’s a shot of the Fifth Brother from the back. We get a first look at two new droids featured in the series. Above you can see some kind of battle droid shooting at stormtroopers in a cave. We even get a look at the actual bounty, and it’s nice to see Revenge of the Sith Obi-Wan again. Rupert Friend’s Grand Inquisitor was the subject of much debate when the first teaser dropped a few weeks back. Reva replies, “Maybe you’ve been looking in the wrong places,” at which point the trailer cuts to the shot above. He was first introduced in The Empire Strikes Back as one of the mercenaries hired by Darth Vader to hunt down Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon. Opening fire on the Inquisitors on their home turf seems like a really bad idea… Obi-Wan Kenobi will introduce a new kind of stormtrooper to live-action. In the first teaser, we saw Obi-Wan getting shot at from both sides during this gunfight. While the first teaser only featured the ominous sound of Vader’s breathing, this new trailer finally shows us the iconic villain in the flesh…or what’s left of it, anyway. Before we unpack all the teases and easter eggs, have a watch if you haven’t already:

As seen in the new trailer, the hunt is on for the Jedi — and Obi-Wan in particular. The official trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi has arrived in celebration of May the 4th, and it’s filled with new imagery and details from the upcoming limited series. Stormtroopers stalk the streets, and the Empire’s Jedi-hunting Inquisitors lead the charge. Obi-Wan Kenobi, starting May 27 on Disney+, follows Ewan McGregor’s legendary Jedi Master 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The Empire reigns and the few surviving Jedi are in hiding, with Kenobi living in secret on Tatooine and watching over Luke Skywalker from afar. These are the dark times, indeed. While Obi-Wan delivered a newborn Luke Skywalker to Owen Lars, the Tatooine moisture farmer — and stepbrother of Anakin Skywalker — seems to want nothing more to do with Kenobi. It’s a sentiment that draws a straight line to his concerns in Star Wars: A New Hope.
