Bradbury was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2021, and underwent a mastectomy the following month. In the summer of 2020, Bradbury first felt a lump in her breast and had three mammograms before doctors found a tumour in her left breast. The emotional programme offers a personal insight into Bradbury’s breast cancer diagnosis, her decision to have a mastectomy, and the effect of the illness on her mental health.

The mother of three explained that her mum Chrissi, 84, has previously battled bowl cancer and her father Michael, 81, has survived prostate cancer. After waiting to take the call at home, Julia recalls how she was told their was a 'big tumour' in her left breast, adding: 'So I thought I'd delay that until I was back. She said: 'They said if we take away the breast tissue we might be able to save your skin and nipple. On the verge of tears, she said: 'The process of being marked up, you do feel a bit like a slab of meat.
