Betfred is offering new customers £60 in FREE BETS and BONUSES when you sign up and bet £10 on ANY horse race. But my selection ran on strongly to take a length-and-a-quarter second to New Pursuit and a 1lb nudge up the weights may not be enough to stop Pub Crawl, who should be suited by the step up in trip, from going one better. Sent off at 17-2 in a field of nine, Dylan Hogan's mount began to feel the heat with two furlongs of the extended mile to run. PUB CRAWL should profit for the chance to tackle 10 furlongs for the first time in the Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Handicap (2.10) at Redcar today. A 150-1 second at Leicester on April Fool’s Day earned the Michael Bell trainee a British Horseracing Authority handicap mark of 77 - an assessment he put to the test on his debut in the sphere at Epsom nine days ago.

Punchestown Festival tips: Johnny Ward's bets for day three (Racing TV)

Our Irish racing expert has four bets for Thursday. Watch every race live on Racing TV!

The favourite, James’s Gate, should win this and he holds Music Drive on Cheltenham Festival form. I doubt Vanillier will ever jump fences again but on last season's novice hurdle form, he must have a reasonable chance here. Klassical Dream is a shocking price here.

However, BLUE LORD could be the value alternative to the favourite, as having racked up some notable wins he slightly disappointed when third in the Arkle Challenge Trophy at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He's much better than that seven length defeat, and if he can get into a rhythm over his fences then he could well put it up to his stablemate Gentleman De Mee, who will fail to build on his Grade 1 novice chase win at Aintree. A facile nine-length winner of this event 12 months ago, Klassical Dream will attempt to replicate that success on Thursday, but he failed to fire in the closing stages of the Stayers' Hurdle at last month's Cheltenham Festival, and it's hard to back him with significant confidence at such short odds. A devilishly difficult assignment for punters to work out and with the bookmakers going 8/1 the field, at the time of writing, that just highlights what a competitive race is in order. Grange Walk appeared to have the measure of MT LEINSTER when they clashed at Fairyhouse a few weeks ago, but the former crashed to the turf two fences from home and it was left to the Willie Mullins-trained raider Mt Leinster to storm to victory, as he made it back-to-back wins. A real punting head-scratcher to start off the day, but Henry De Bromhead's HIDE AND SEEK was an impressive ten-length winner of a mares' maiden hurdle last time out at Tramore, and the five-year-old mare will look to show her class in handicap company on Thursday afternoon. Singing Banjo lines up as the reigning champion and has to be respected, but it's the Enda Bolger-trained SHADY OPERATOR that can bound to La Touche Cup glory, as the course winner can relish a return to Punchestown and show is class in an intriguing renewal.

Punchestown Festival 2022 tips: Robbie Power's selections for day ... (Irish Mirror)

Today's Punchestown Gold Cup is a cracking renewal and I'm delighted to be on Minella Indo. He ran a cracker in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

I partner Crosshill in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel Hurdle and I think he has a definite chance. But Redemption Day went to Cheltenham with a huge reputation and disappointed. He was going to be second to Sir Gerhard in the Ballymore at the Cheltenham Festival when he fell at the last and I think stepping up to three miles will suit him. I think Journey With Me is a horse that could be a bit overpriced. The Irish Mirror Novice Hurdle is a very hard race to call. He went to Cheltenham with a huge reputation and back here over three miles, I think he could be a bit of value to overturn the Willie Mullins battalion.

Day three of the Punchestown festival is here – but who do our top tipsters fancy most?

5.25 Punchestown: 'I hope he can behave himself, he has the ability' – Townend on Klassical Dream Horses who ran in the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham don't have a good record in this, but Klassical Dream fits all the other trends and is taken to make it back-to-back wins in the race. Day three of the Punchestown festival is here – but who do two of our top tipsters fancy most?

Three things to look out for on day three at Punchestown (Irish Examiner)

Paisley Park can strike for the visitors in the Ladbrokes Stayers Hurdle.

One of the more prevalent of the ‘pro-five-day’ arguments is that Ireland’s big National Hunt jamboree at Punchestown runs fives days and is none the worse for it. He seems in really good shape, so we’ll see what happens.” It seems counterintuitive to hope for an English win at Punchestown, but a few more of them might tempt Lavelle’s compatriots to postpone the holidays for their better horses and bring some more talent to the Punchestown party. “Touch wood, he’s in really good order, looks great and we’ll see how it goes,” she said earlier this week. For instance, look at today’s card at the Kildare track. This completely misses the point.

On that evidence the stamina division looked his to dominate this season given a clear run with injuries. There will be no more popular La Touche winner than Peter Maher’s veteran 15 year old Ballyboker Bridge who will try to repeat his 2019 success. Enda Bolger hasn’t won since 2018 which constitutes a near-famine for the ‘Banks King’ with 14 La Touche victories in all.

Music Drive and Sir Jimmy Mac look the best of the remainder but, in truth, the selection will have to fluff his lines if he’s to be overturned. Hurricane Georgie took a big step forward when just failing in a listed chase at Fairyhouse and is another to consider along with the selection’s stablemate Lilith, who won well at Newbury 8 weeks ago. Sire du Berlais is sure to make his presence felt if turning up in similar form to Aintree, while Concertista makes some appeal back over hurdles given she’s unexposed at this trip. As you would expect there are a host of potential dangers, headed by City Chief and Maze Runner. Recent Fairyhouse scorer Ideal Pal, Luke Short and Hide And Seek are others fancied to be firmly in the mix. Grange Walk almost certainly would’ve beaten Mt Leinster at Fairyhouse 11 days ago and that pair rate as the main dangers to the selection here.

Horse Racing Tips Punchestown Festival: Timeform highlights and ... (Sportinglife.com)

Timeform highlight their best bets at Punchestown on Thursday in the form of a ratings banker, a big improver and a Flag to note.

Macs Charm had another 13 lb hike in the weights to contend with when lining up at Naas last month, but even that wasn’t enough to prevent him from completing the hat-trick. If anything, that makes it even more impressive that he was still seemingly full of running at the finish as, after being produced to lead before the last, he proceeded to power clear to land the spoils by 14 lengths with any amount in hand. James’s Gate was beaten only six lengths after travelling strongly for a long way at Cheltenham, and it wasn’t just in the race itself that he impressed.
