Are family business meetings necessary? (Successful Farming)

When goodwill, productivity, profitability, and peace of mind are needed, nothing beats communication through intentional meetings.

These meetings need to be long enough to stay in compliance; complete the requirements; keep current on the vision; identify key players; and review documents, finances, and the transition plan. Those closest to the work (task) know what is needed and have ideas for solutions. The meeting may be an annual general meeting, a board of directors meeting, or a special topic meeting that requires owner direction and decision. The purpose is to add productivity and profitability, explore options, solve problems, and foster goodwill among the team. Allow space to write the topics/needs to be discussed. It’s often held first thing in the morning with the intent to review daily tasks, expectations, and priorities.

Zoom to Pay Out $85 Million in 'Zoombombing' Lawsuit (Tech.co)

Have you been a victim of Zoombombing? If so, now might be time to cash in. On Thursday the 21st of April, a lawsuit settlement agreement that will see Zoom ...

In one instance of Zoombombing, the Saint Paulus Lutheran Church in San Francisco was targeted during a bible study class. In addition to this cash pay out, the lawsuit will also see Zoom implement reforms to its business practices. On Thursday the 21st of April, a lawsuit settlement agreement that will see Zoom Video Communications pay out $85 million in cash compensation was officially passed. Zoombombing is a form of cyber-harassment where uninvited users gate crash online meetings. While Zoom denies any wrongdoing in the case and the court absolves its legal responsibility, many involved in the case believe that the software company is obligated to protect the security and privacy of its users. However, Molumphy makes it clear that the company isn't directly responsible for the Zoombombs, saying “I think to some extent Zoom was a victim of its own creation; it just exploded in the middle of Covid and in many ways it wasn’t ready for the amount of usage of its platform, particularly in its privacy and encryption practices.”
