Woman who drowned in Greystones named as Bray schoolteacher (The Irish Times)

A woman aged in her 50s who drowned after she and two friends got into difficulty swimming in the sea in Co Wicklow has been named locally as school teacher ...

A second woman was taken to St Vincentโ€™s Hospital. She is understood to have been discharged later. Ms Freeman, a mother of two, was a member of staff at Ravenswell Primary School in Bray and formerly worked in Delgany National School. She was originally from the UK and was understood to have been a regular swimmer. The three women, all in their 50s, were taken from the water.

Schoolteacher Lynne Freeman and her two friends were pulled from the water on Saturday afternoon. Tragically, Ms Freeman was pronounced dead a short time later.

Greystones drowning victim named as mum-of-two (Extra.ie)

A woman who tragically drowned after getting into difficulty while swimming in Greystones has been named as a schoolteacher in Bray.

Ms Freeman was originally from the UK and was a regular sea swimmer. A second woman was taken to St Vincentโ€™s Hospital and was discharged later that day. Her body was taken to Loughlinstown Hospital for a post-mortem.

A woman who sadly passed away over the weekend after getting into difficulty swimming with friends in Wicklow has been named locally as school teacher Lynne ...

Freeman was a mum of two and a teacher at Ravenswell Primary School in Bray, with friends, family and colleagues offering their condolences on Facebook. A second woman has been taken to St Vincent's Hospital to be treated for her injuries and later discharged while the third was treated at the scene by emergency services. A surfer was also seen coming to the women's aid before emergency services managed to rescue them but unfortunately, Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene.
