Several new laws will have an impact on wildlife, hunting and fishing (wyomingnewsnow.tv)

The 2022 Wyoming Legislature passed several bills that will make changes to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department laws and regulations.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission has been granted the authority to invest additional Commission funds into an alternative state-run investment pool. The Commission now has the flexibility to invest operating fund dollars into an investment pool managed by the state treasurer called “Pool A.” The account has the potential for much higher interest yields that would generate increased revenue for on-the-ground conservation projects. This option will be available beginning July 1. The resident license allocation has increased for five of Wyoming’s most sought-after species: bison, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, moose and grizzly bear (currently not issued). Residents will now get a chance at 90% of the available licenses, and nonresidents will vye for 10% of licenses. With this bill any person who is discovered to have passed check stations have 48 hours to get their watercraft inspected for AIS. Boat operators who fail to have their watercraft inspected — after being contacted for not having an inspection — face increased penalties. CHEYENNE, Wyo. The CNCHD performed more than 1,100 environmental health inspections, attended 108 emergency preparedness meetings, and trained 454 individuals on topics like suicide prevention, binge drinking, and drug abuse. Since 1954, the CNCHD has played an integral role in the health and wellness of Natrona County, often behind the scenes. CNCHD officials worked closely with local leadership to keep our community open and safe through what has perhaps been the world’s most challenging period since World War II. It was Casper versus COVID, and together, Casper came out on top. As a partner to local daycares, restaurants, schools, medical facilities, pools, spas, health clubs, tattoo studios, hotels, and many more industries, the CNCHD has provided education and guidance on operating safely. From March 20, 2020, when Casper’s first COVID case appeared through June 2021, the CNCHD administered 18,425 COVID tests at more than 15 different locations. “This recognition is so meaningful because those are the people we serve,” Hailey Bloom, CNCHD Public Information Officer, said.
