John Cleary, a double-All Ireland winning player with Cork in '89 and '90, has had All Ireland and Munster success as a manager with the Rebels at under-21 level and has also won four All Irelands with the Cork ladies footballers. The issue remains deadlocked with the game still scheduled to take place at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney - a further meeting of the Munster Council is due to consider the issue and try and find a solution. The news comes at a difficult time for the game in Cork as the county's senior football setup is involved in a dispute with the Munster Council over the decision to switch the venue for their Munster Championship semi-final with Kerry on May 7th.
