Products are being recalled, no matter what their best before date, the Food Standards Agency said.
Tina Potter, head of incidents at the FSA, said: “Consumers should follow the advice in the latest recall notice, which details all of the products which may pose a risk. Ferrero said it acknowledged “internal inefficiencies, creating delays in retrieving and sharing information in a timely manner” and said these had “impacted the speed and effectiveness of the investigations”. Britain has the highest number of incidents with 63 confirmed cases as of April 5, the ECDC said, adding that other countries with probable or confirmed cases are France, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway. Earlier in the week, the health ministry had said the recall only concerned a specific batch of Kinder surprise eggs, however, after the closure of the affected factory, the chocolate firm Ferrero was forced to extend its recall of products. The announcement came a day after the Belgian Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain – AFSCA withdrew the licence of the Ferrero d’Arlon production plant in Belgium which has been involved in the salmonellosis cases reported in several European countries.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) say that 67 people in the UK are known to have been infected with salmonella linked to the chocolates.

105 confirmed and 29 suspected cases of salmonella, mainly among children under 10 years old are being investigated by the European Food Safety Authority.
Customers who've purchased one of the recalled products are being urged not to eat them. The Food Standards Agency in the UK said the Kinder eggs linked to the outbreak have all been manufactured at the same factory in Belgium. This comes just days before Easter Sunday as reports stats that all production in the Belgium factory has ceased.
