Pressure will have been on Keith Long before the game but a big win moves Bohemians up the table.
The standard of Rovers’ crossing left a lot to be desired and Talbot had little enough to contend with for the remainder as Buckley’s changes came too late in the day. And when he laid it off to Burt, the Scottish flyer carried the ball into the box and beat McGinty with a shot that clipped Buckley’s foot but was going in regardless. Bohs brought on Dawson Devoy and Junior to inject fresh life into the cause late on, but they were rarely troubled for the remainder. When Coote hooked the ball to the halfway line, Omochere not only held up the ball but turned and ran at pace. But Sligo Rovers passed up the chance to move second in the table after slumping to a second home defeat in four days. And sensing the threat he carried having rattled the crossbar early on, Burt and Ali Coote were always willing to gamble on the ball falling their way.

Sligo Rovers suffered a second consecutive defeat at home as Liam Burt's first-half goal earned just a second win of the season for Bohemian.
March’s player of the month Aidan Keena missed off after sustaining an injury in that game against Shels, while Colm Horgan, David Cawley, Jordan Hamilton and Shane Blaney dropped to the bench. It was a disappointing night for the Bit O’Red, with Bohs now two points behind in 6th and Derry City eight points ahead at the top of the table, six clear of Shamrock Rovers in second. Ed McGinty made a couple of vital saves in the dying moments, denying Omochere from close range to prevent a second goal for Bohs on the night. The Bit O’Red knew they would need to be better in the second-half if they were to get anything from this game, and they were almost back on level terms when they came close on a couple of occasions. Liam Buckley wanted a response from his side after a disappointing night on Friday, and while his side started well on Tuesday night, it was the visitors who had the better opportunities. Liam Burt scored in the first-half to record a second win of the season for Bohs.
