Ryan Tubridy launches 'Imagine the Future' Schools competition in ... (WicklowNews.Net)

Television and radio presenter Ryan Tubridy will serve as one of the judges of NBI's 'Imagine the Future' competition for primary schools.

I think this is a great opportunity for children to let their imaginations run wild and envision all of the great, weird and interesting possibilities that technology is going to unlock for them in the future.” Students have been asked to create a piece of art responding to the simple statement, ‘Imagine the Future’. Students in the 679 primary schools located in the intervention area of the National Broadband Plan are eligible to take part in the new art, design and imagination competition.

Leo Varadkar has made a particularly sly dig at Ryan Tubridy and The Late Late Show while giving a speech in the Project Arts Centre.

The scheme will see a payment of 325 Euro per week paid to 2,000 artists nationwide in an effort to promote the creation of new work while allowing for greater stability within the sector. The backhanded comment against the long-standing Irish programme comes as the Government seek to further promote the arts, with the core aim of the scheme being to target the income instability of those working in the sector. Speaking at the conference today, the Tanaiste was quoted saying; ‘I’ll never forget watching Normal People during that first lockdown.
