Good Morning Britain weather presenter Alex Beresford was crowned winner of All Star Musicals on Sunday evening after performing a song from Hamilton.

"We were all standing there on stage and waiting for them to call a name and when I heard Al.. I was like 'oh my God, it’s me' and it was just the best feeling in the world. But my phone is on loud, that is all I have to say! "After my performance when I was listening to the judge's comments, they were saying such lovely things and it just really touched me and my eyes welled up. "When I did Dancing On Ice you can only rehearse on the ice really, whereas this was something that I can do in my own time. I was holding my tears back- I didn't want to blub on national television!" Speaking after the show, Alex was asked how it felt to win and he replied: "It felt absolutely amazing.

HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF MUSICALS? I'VE always loved musicals.

And that definitely worked; I think we were more proud in the end because of it. I felt a lot more comfortable singing other songs but I guess that was the challenge of it. I was hoping for a bit of, you know, Eponine or something because it's something I know well and I enjoy. I had hopes and dreams; I really wanted to do a different song. My favourite thing to do is to go and watch a musical, so to get a chance to be on the other side of that, to do something a bit different, push myself a little bit, it was a no-brainer, really. Some of the things I was taught by Samantha Barks – I'm like her biggest fan anyway, so it was a bit crazy to even meet her.
