2022 WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 predictions, card, matches ... (CBSSports.com)

Everything you need to know ahead of the WWE WrestleMania Night 2 pay-per-view this Sunday.

As entertaining as RK-Bro is as an act, you get the sense that WWE is getting antsy to break them up for a less entertaining feud. I'll side with Edge, hesitantly, but am rather confident that this will be Match of the Night. Pick: Edge wins -- Mahjouri Reigns can get his win over Lesnar down the road in the inevitable fourth Lesnar vs. Alpha Academy should have been afforded the opportunity for a longer Raw Tag Team title run, but Orton and Riddle were quick to reclaim their crowns. McAfee is so beloved by fans that it's hard to see him losing to Austin Theory, who has plenty of time in his career to recover from a loss to a pro-athlete-turned-commentator. He won't have that benefit against fellow heavyweight Lashley. "The Almighty" is coming off a recent WWE championship reign, has a winning MMA record and muscles for days. Pick: Sasha Banks & Naomi win the titles -- Shakiel Mahjouri Lashley is returning from several months on the sidelines and his return should result in a win. If there's any out here, it may be in finding the cheapest way for Lashley to lose, which could come down to MVP turning on him and moving on to manage Omos. That would benefit the monster by giving him someone who can work the mic and extend the program with Lashley for a while. Zayn is exactly the right kind of heel to lose this match and have that loss be a benefit in building him up. You would hope that WWE would not go so far as to have a quality superstar like Zayn take the L for "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville. The no-disqualification stipulation should present opportunities for run-ins and fun stunts from other stars from the film franchise. It's undeniably the right move to have Knoxville get the win.

WWE can't afford to drop the ball, waste its WrestleMania 38 ... (New York Post)

Now comes the hard part, because this is the “most stupendous two-night WrestleMania in history.” WWE Charlotte Flair reacts after Ronda Rousey kicks out. WWE ...

A lackluster ending to a Night 2 card already fighting an uphill battle can short-circuit the energy WWE created Saturday. Building off of it will make this weekend a huge win for for Vince McMahon’s company as far as good feeling, buzz and momentum around the company creatively. WWE can have a massive weekend and plenty of momentum heading into the “Monday Night Raw” after WrestleMania if it can keep things from slipping like that again. A lot of pressure will fall on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar and their title unification match to carry a much-less-stacked Night 2 if another contest doesn’t step up and steal the show. There are fewer candidates than Night 1 as the Sunday card features matches with Johnny Knoxville and Pat McAfee and a thrown-together fatal four-way for the women’s tag team championships. WWE can still create a buzz when it gets out of its own way and lets its talented performers do what they do best. Night 1 of WrestleMania 38 felt like everything WWE and its biggest show are supposed to be.

WWE WrestleMania 38 Predictions for Sunday Night's Updated ... (Bleacher Report)

WrestleMania Saturday set the bar incredibly high for the second night of festivities, thanks to a Match of the Year candidate in Bianca Belair vs...

He recalled the disappointment experienced by his father when he failed to win the title in San Francisco the first time in a great promo Monday on Raw. It has frustrated him, and even created an unspoken doubt as to whether he can actually pull off such a victory. After conquering everyone put before him over the last 18 months, he will have his latest, greatest opportunity to exorcise the demon that is The Beast. In the process, he would become the unified WWE universal champion, a moment even grander than those that did not come to fruition in his first two clashes with Lesnar.Reigns is the guy, the face of WWE's present and future. Ironically, it is as a heel that The Tribal Chief realized his full potential and is thriving as the top star in WWE.For all of the acknowledgments and bloodlines, wise men and main event wins, there is one thing that eludes Reigns: a WrestleMania victory over Lesnar. It is his Moby Dick, the great white whale that he has chased throughout his career. When he takes to the squared circle Sunday night, he will do so with a new persona, at age 48, proving there is no such thing as "too old" to start over.If anything, he is proving fearless, adapting to an ever-changing landscape by changing a character that has been over and effective for nearly two decades. To preserve the work that has gone into creating this new side of the competitor, he should beat Styles on  Sunday night in what would serve as the real jumping-off point for their rivalry. Let Edge develop and grow into these new shoes. With a loss, it would be difficult to rekindle the initial impact of the new character.Sunday night will mark the third time Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar have danced in the main event of WrestleMania. What many expected to be Reigns' coronation in 2015, instead, is remembered for a Money in the Bank cash-in by Seth Rollins that remains one of the best finishes in pro wrestling history. Three years later, Reigns entered as the undisputed top babyface in the company, only to be steamrolled in a one-sided squash match that turned the New Orleans fans against it.A lot can happen in four years, not the least of which is a character makeover that elevated Reigns from a cookie-cutter good guy to a dominant, cunning, sometimes vulnerable but always imposing heel. Sunday's show will pit Roman Reigns against Brock Lesnar in the "Biggest Match of All Time" in which both the WWE and Universal Championships will be up for grabs. The monumental match headlines a card that features tag team titles up for grabs, a few grudge-settling showdowns, and a dream match between Edge and AJ Styles that will have diehard fans salivating.Ahead of the show, streaming on Peacock at 8 p.m. ET, here are predictions for each match and two prominent stories to keep an eye on.Winner Takes All for the WWE and Universal ChampionshipsRK-Bro (c) vs.

WrestleMania 38 Night 2 preview: Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar ... (New York Post)

WWE appears to be heading toward its first singular world champion since its brand split in 2016 unless things get wacky at the end of Universal champion Roman ...

This is really about shining a light on McAfee’s opponent — Austin Theory. The 25- year-old Theory, who is appearing at his second WrestleMania, is a rising star in the company and his selfie-taking character is being mentored on-screen my Mr. McMahon. Theory has continually taunted McAfee while he’s doing commentary on SmackDown to build the heat here – once running straight to McMahon’s office. Lesnar, who has shown a more affable and entertaining side of himself since returning, took the WWE championship off Big E, lost it to Bobby Lashley (due to outside interference from Reigns and a backstabbing Heyman) at the Royal Rumble, won the Royal Rumble and won the WWE championship back at Day 1 after Reigns had to bow out of their scheduled match after contracting COVID-19. Reigns is in the midst of a 500-plus day reign as Universal champion and the best run of his career. Edge has been near the top of card and isn’t going anywhere, but – after tagging with Omos for while – this can be a launching off point for Styles back into the word title picture. Let’s hope WWE doesn’t just split these teams up once Mania is over and instead gives the division a chance to properly grow. A few months after being full babyface for a mixed tag match with wife Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble, Edge has turned things very dark – changing his music and entrance for this feud. McAfee was told about his WrestleMania match during an interview with Vince McMahon on his “The Pat McAfee Show” on SirusXM. Will The Rock confront his cousin to close the show to lay the groundwork for a match next year in Los Angeles? So many questions and we are finally about to get a few answers. Sami Zayn. It’s been made to feel more important than the Intercontinental championship that the “Jackass” star cost his opponent to add even more fire to this feud. Edge, after a viscous beatdown of Styles, sent a message (draped in purple light) to Styles imploring him to bring his viscous side to WrestleMania and thanks the Phenomenal One for unlocking this new side of himself. Reigns pinned Lesnar with some outside help at Crown Jewel in October in their last meeting, they are 2-2 all time in singles matches and The Tribal Chief has never topped The Beast at WrestleMania. There have been plenty of twists and turns to get here – with Heyman smack dab in the middle of it – but someone is leaving Dallas with all the gold. What will a unified champion mean for that person’s presence on WWE TV and the company’s brand split? Reigns goes back to The Beast returning from a more than year-long absence at SummerSlam. It includes their history that dates back to WrestleMania 31 and Paul Heyman and Lesnar’s relationship of 20 years.

WWE WrestleMania 2022: Will Sunday's Matches Be Able to Top ... (Bleacher Report)

The SmackDown Women's Championship match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair brought the energy down a little, but it was a solid mix of physical fighting ...

It was a tremendous match that kick-started a strong finish to Saturday night. The (perhaps not-so) surprising WWE return of Cody Rhodes brought a ton of energy to the AT&T Stadium crowd. It was Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair as the big programs, but then Ronda Rousey came back, so she kinda got that Sasha Banks spot," Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Gunjan Nath of RingsideNews). At the very least, fans should be invested in this one.Sunday's battle between AJ Styles and Edge has legitimate "match of the night" potential, as both are incredible workers capable of carrying various styles in a match (no pun intended).Styles is an industry icon who shined in virtually every other big promotion before signing the WWE in 2016. There's no guarantee that Banks and Naomi will come out on top, but it's a logical direction for WWE to take.Banks lost in last year's WrestleMania Saturday main event to Belair, and she was reportedly pushed to the side by Rousey's return to the company." The long-running feud between these two brings plenty to the bout, but the WWE also plans to unify its two biggest titles.Reigns currently holds the Universal Championship, while Lesnar holds the WWE Championship. Sunday's match is a winner-take-all bout that will put both belts on the victor. While the Styles vs. However, the 2021 Royal Rumble champion is still a solid performer and seems reinvigorated by his recent heel turn.Fans should expect a fair bit of high-flying action coupled with hard hits and good storytelling when these two legends enter the ring.As far as stakes go, Sunday's main event match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns tops everything on the card. Queen Zelina and Carmella will defend their titles against the teams of Naomi and Sasha Banks, Natalya and Shayna Baszler, and Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.Four-way matches can be gimmicky—at least one team is usually knocked out of the action for an extended period—but there's a ton of talent in this one. The finish—before Flair won, she tapped to Rousey's armbar, but the ref was down and unaware—left plenty unsettled in this ongoing feud. Then, we got the return of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in what was supposed to be an appearance on The KO Show, but it turned into a no-holds-barred street fight with Kevin Owens. It wasn't a technical masterpiece, but it was a fun brawl and a welcome return after 19 years for Austin. It was a fantastic finish to Night 1 and left plenty for Sunday to live up to.It's hard to imagine Sunday's card being more impressive, but these three highly anticipated matches could help put it on par with Saturday. When done well, tag matches carry a rhythm and artistic flow that can't be replicated by singles competition. Rhodes got the win and appears poised for a big push moving forward. The SmackDown Women's Championship match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair brought the energy down a little, but it was a solid mix of physical fighting and technical wrestling. WWE WrestleMania 2022: Will Sunday's Matches Be Able to Top Saturday's Card?WWE WrestleMania 2022: Will Sunday's Matches Be Able to Top Saturday's Card?WrestleMania 38 is once again a two-night affair, and Saturday's action set a pretty high bar for Night 2. Saturday's SmackDown Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs was a great example of teammates working well together—though it was ended prematurely when Boogs suffered a knee injury that very well could be legitimate.Fans will get another dose of tag action Sunday in a four-way women's match. Lynch looked to finish the match early with a flurry of offense, but the stronger Belair managed to outlast and eventually defeat the champion. While the opening night wasn't flawless, and some of the early matches could be considered throwaways, the quality ramped up with the Raw Women's Championship match between Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch.Belair and Lynch put on a clinic of momentum shifts, false finishes and in-ring storytelling.
