Latest Derby County takeover news from DerbyshireLive brings what has been reported about a plan from the Council to try and buy Pride Park Stadium off Mel ...
The Sun claim that the Council could buy the club's Pride Park Stadium from its current owner Mel Morris and then lease it to a potential new owner of the Rams. Pride Park is currently owned by a company in Morris' name after he bought the stadium from the Rams in 2018. It has been reported that a deadlock in takeover talks is down to potential buyers who do not want to stump up the cash to bring the Rams out of administration and then buy Pride Park separately. Derby have been in administration since September when Morris called in the business advisory firm Quantuma to handle the club's affairs and seal a takeover.
Preston North End lost 1-0 to Derby County on Saturday afternoon. Ravel Morrison came off the bench to strike home a late winning goal and spark wild scenes ...
It's now becoming a 'thing' and North End have got to find a short-term answer until the summer. It's not just down to the forwards, of course, but they are the ones you're looking to. Cameron Archer has shown he can do it and North End must give him better service, while Ched Evans needs to start chipping in more in front of goal. It was a messy piece of defending, regardless of the situation he needlessly found himself in as a result of Browne's back pass. He certainly played his part and was let down by those in front of him for the goal, after he had made two incredible reaction saves. In this day and age, it's a challenge that will always see a player shown a straight red card.
Emil Riis' late winner against Bournemouth a month ago was the last time they found the net, with the wider picture being one victory in the last seven. There ...
Neither red could be argued against, Lindsay having allowed Lawrence to get the wrong side of him in a chase for a pass before stumbling into the back of him as he tried to recover. I mentioned the tendency for results to slow down in the closing stages of the season and that’s been the case for four of the previous six campaigns in the Championship. The derby is about so much more though, righting the wrongs of a dismal performance at Bloomfield Road last October for starters.

It’s unfair on them – because they have been exceptional this season as they continue to travel up and down the country to watch their team. Despite indications that a preferred party was finally going to be named by the club’s administrators in the latter stages of last month, that milestone has yet to be reached with uncertainty continuing to affect Wayne Rooney’s plans for the summer. As of yet, it’s currently unclear whether anyone has bid the amount needed for the club to escape a further 15-point deduction next season with the administrators even stopping contact with the previously interested Binnie family last month.
Derby County have been boosted in their efforts to find a new buyer for the club, with journalist Alan Nixon providing a significant update on the matter.
This update is certainly more positive compared to other recent reports and the hope is that things continue to develop in the coming days and weeks. While the thought of relegation to the third tier of English football is bad enough, the idea of there not even having a club to support doesn’t bear thinking about, with football playing such a big role in the lives of so many. A 1-0 win against Preston will have lifted the mood of course, but off the pitch Derby are still in a perilous position, with the threat of liquidation hanging over the club all season.
A 1-0 victory against Preston yesterday, has seen Derby County rise off the bottom of the Championship table and move to within six points of safety.

We’ll give it a go and we have to have that belief that we can do it. “There is no excuse for us not to give everything in every game and have a go. Rooney told Derbyshire Live: “There is an opportunity for a run to stay in the division.

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's Championship clash between Preston North End and Blackpool, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Both teams will fancy their chances of picking up all three points on Tuesday, but we are struggling to separate them. Preston have drawn nine home Championship fixtures this term, while Blackpool have shared the points on seven occasions on their travels, so a low-scoring draw is a likely outcome here. Lowe's team have won six, drawn nine and lost three of their 18 home league fixtures this season, while Blackpool have also been inconsistent on their travels, posting four wins, seven draws and six defeats from 17 games.
Derby County star Curtis Davies has vowed his side will "fight till the end" after they defeated Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.
Most players have regressed by now, but the former Aston Villa and Hull City defender’s determination and leadership have seen him maintain an important role in Wayne Rooney’s side. Now, following the victory, star defender Davies has sent a battling cry to supporters. Ravel Morrison struck his fourth goal in five games late on to secure a crucial three points.
