Cavan ended their 70-year wait for silverware at Croke Park after they edged out Tipperary by a point to win the Allianz NFL Division 4 final.
Cavan and Tipperary both caused big upsets in the 2020 All-Ireland Covid-delayed season as they were crowned provincial champions in Munster and Ulster respectively. Both teams destined for the Tailteann Cup unless they can reach a provincial decider, and realistically both have a chance. It's up for grabs today.

With just a point in it, and the clock ticking well into injury time, Teddy Doyle received the ball in the half forward line, scanned his options and chose to put it right on top of the full forward. The first goal in particular was beautiful to watch as Cavan just threaded the ball through the Tipp defence with a beautifully weighted pass, and Lynch just found himself in acres of space before slotting it home. Goals win games though, and Cavan found the net twice thanks to a Paddy Lynch double, as the forward managed to find the net in both halves.
