‘And boy have I gotten out of the house in style this week. ‘My back is still not great and I can only walk very short distances and am still in pain BUT it is manageable AND I can get out of the house.’ Telling her followers that she’s ‘gotten out of the house in style this week’, Vicky shared snaps from her trip to Adare Manor where she had afternoon tea with her mother and godmother.

Charlie took the opportunity of paying tribute to the people of Mayo for extending the hand of friendship to him since launching his Climb with Charlie event after an appearance on the Late, Late Show, during which he spoke about his battle with MND. "Thanks to everybody for extending the hand of friendship. Accompanied by his partner Claire and their pet dog Tiger, they visited Dunnes Stores in the town to thank the management and staff for their support of the Climb with Charlie fundraising drive. Vicky Phelan has sent a special message to her good friend Charlie Bird to wish him well on his 'Climb with Charlie' project at Croagh Patrick this weekend.

But she will tune to RTÉ's The Late Late Show tomorrow night, which will feature a segment with Charlie from Westport on the eve of the climb. She also expressed her disappointment that she will not be able to join the former RTÉ journalist on the challenge. She announced several weeks ago that she had to pull out of the climb as she was simply too unwell physically to undertake the challenge.
