One-third of Naval Service fleet to be decommissioned (The Irish Times)

Three ageing vessels may be gifted to friendly nation, scrapped or sold.

The Government has said the process will take between four and six years to complete. The Government has agreed to purchase two decommissioned inshore patrol vessels from the New Zealand navy for €26 million.
