The consensus is that building will make a return next week after the first portion of the new season ends, with leakers and dataminers uncovering hints within the game’s code that suggests the mechanic could be back seven to nine days from Season 2’s launch. The removal of the building function obviously drastically changes the way Fortnite is played, and though it has been replaced somewhat with the game’s new defensive over-shield, even seasoned players are having to get to grips with it all over again. The most important one is the Overshield, which serves as a defensive measure for players in lieu of building, and gives the player 50 Health overtime throughout the match if no damage is dealt to them. Building is completely gone for the time being, replaced instead with a number of new movement mechanics which are sure to change the way Fortnite handles dramatically.

One day later, the developer revealed that it has already raised $36 million as part of the effort. This season, called “Resistance,” features a big shift with the removal of building, alongside the notable addition of Doctor Strange and other characters. Epic’s Fortnite fundraising efforts will run until April 3rd.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 started yesterday and all proceeds will be donated to Ukraine charity groups.
It has also forced over 3 million people to flee the country, creating a large and growing refugee crisis. Instead, Epic will send the funds to the charities only days after the “transactions are reported.” According to Epic, this includes the purchasing of V-Buck packs and cosmetic packs sold for real money.

With 'Fortnite' Chapter 3 Season 2, Epic Games has fundamentally changed the most foundational game mechanic, so what does it mean for the future?
Epic filed a trademark for the “Epic Games Megaverse” in February 2022 and collected $1 billion in investment funding in 2021 to support those plans. Seemingly random crossovers with characters from Marvel, Rick and Morty, Naruto, and more are a regular part of each season, regardless of the theme. Fortnite introduced hirable NPCs, dangerous animals, crafting, and a slew of other new mechanics over the last year that fundamentally change the experience. Watching the pros mash buttons to build a zig-zagging spire of scrap metal can be downright nauseating, but there’s no denying that this kind of creative sandbox coexisting alongside competitive survival combat mechanics is a match made in heaven. “To help maintain cover, you now have an Overshield on top of your Shield and Health. The Overshield is your first line of defense: before your Shield and Health take a hit, it’s your Overshield that’ll crack. Essentially, parkour-like movement is now the standard within Fortnite, but building should return as part of this season’s storyline.

All you’ll need to do is stand next to your vehicle and press the fire button while aiming at the vehicle, and you’ll see its health jump back up to normal, alongside visual changes to the vehicle that show the repair process. As you scour the world for weapons and ammo, you’ll also be able to find the Repair Torch, which looks like a blowtorch that comes with 200 Gas off of the bat. Or, if you happen to find a vehicle in the world that is badly damaged, you’ll be able to bring it back to life using this item.
Chapter 3, Season 2 removed building from Fortnite but will the controversial gameplay mechanic return to the battle royale game?
If building is what sets you apart from the majority of other players, you are almost certainly pissed that it has been removed. After that the game will revert back to normal. Although Epic has always experimented with tweaked various aspects of Fortnite, building has been viewed as integral to the battle royale game.
