Chelsea will meet Real Madrid, Liverpool get Benfica, City draw Atletico.

Benfica or Liverpool - who knocked out Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate in the round of 16 - will play Villarreal or Bayern in the other semi-final. Holders Chelsea will play Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals and could meet Manchester City in the last four of the competition. The draw for the semi-final was also conducted in Nyon, throwing up possibilities of a repeat of last season's clash between Chelsea and Manchester City and an all-Madrid affair.

Liverpool have been handed a relatively favourable Champions League draw, with Manchester City not in the equation until a potential final.

Their comprehensive group-stage defeats at the hands of Bayern Munich will give Klopp plenty of encouragement, but Benfica also succeeded in eliminating Barcelona, and came through a testing round of 16 tie against Ajax. They now face the very real prospect of having to watch a final between the duo — although there is still a long way to go. Liverpool will face Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final, with a potential tie against Bayern Munich or Villarreal awaiting in the semi-final.
